What is Cosmic Vibration?

This start-up festival will showcase two stages, over two days, of the best underground music around. Each stage is dedicated to three legendary personalities from Sheffield who unfortunately passed away in recent years. Anthony Allen, Alexis Gott, and Martin Bedford, they were all contributors to Sheffield's ever-growing underground music and art scenes. They left behind a city shaped by their influence, and this festival is a tribute to them. We are grateful to them for showing us the way.

This project started many moons ago whilst attending Bristol's Temples Festival. Two school friends who reconnected after arriving at the festival wearing the same denim jacket with the same "Graveyard" coffin back patch. After hours of conversation about life, music, psychedelia, passion, expression, and all things heavy, the seed was planted...

The name was borrowed several years later from a track by the NYC psychedelic/folk band Foxygen, that Danny heard in 2014.

One line from the song, "I put my mind into the ocean," stayed with him for years until he had a revelation while tripping on mushrooms in 2020... He decided to create a trippy party that catered to heavy music fans and lovers of psychedelic nostalgia...

Cosmic Vibration became a series of nights, gigs, and parties across Sheffield and later, would evolve into a two-day festival, deeply rooted in occult mysticism and pagan belief in the old gods' and their ability to manipulate the vibrational energy of the cosmos. Cosmic Vibration Festival was born.

The festival is a tribute to the bohemian way of life, counterculture, and the absurdism of the "tune in, drop out" generation. The organizers reached out to their favourite bands and artists to create a magical weekend of the absolute most killer underground music.

The festival is a collaboration with "Orange Amplification" and will feature an incredible array of local and international artists from countries such as the UK, France, Germany, the US, and the Netherlands. The venue has a capacity of 400 people, which we believe will maintain a personal touch to the entire event, whilst still being busy and financially successful.

The festival is a DIY, home-grown spectacle that aims to grow exponentially. Our team is constantly reinventing ideas and potential for growth. By 2026, our goal is to take the festival outdoors, with two large stages, a campsite, a craft and flea/car boot-styled market on site, and food and beverage markets supporting local small independents and well-known businesses that share our values.

Our core model is simple: we strive to put hard-working, honest independents in the same arena as big players. We believe that everyone deserves the best opportunities to reach as many people as possible, whether they are artists, musicians, bands, craftspeople, or small businesses. Our team has over 30 years of experience in the industry, and our endorsement and continuing support from Orange Amplification, one of the world's most recognisable guitar amp companies, is a testimony to our abilities to provide consistently and understand the ever-changing world in which we find ourselves.

We are not profit-driven and believe in close-knit communities with open, honest agendas, shared ideology, and clear and concise communication. We have no issue having a busker from the street open for a band that sells out the Leadmill or having a cosy little vegan coffee start-up pitch next to one of the big players. Our stalls will be capped and affordable, and our tickets will be realistic and fair. Our mentality will be to scratch each other's backs.

We want to take festivals back to their roots but reinvent them for the modern world. Love, unity, togetherness, shared interests, music, art, and craft are what we stand for. This festival is for Sheffield, in Sheffield, by Sheffield. It will put Sheffield back on the map as a place for youth culture, creatives, and entrepreneurs to inspire the city's future generations and potential positive investment.
